When the chips are down and life feels unfixable it is very easy to just want to give up. I’m here to tell you, don’t.
And I should know; trust me when I say that I’ve been there and I know how you feel. I’m there right now. It sucks, totally, and there isn’t anything anyone else can say to really make it all better.
The second thing I’m here to tell you is to look at yourself. Go into your room, close the door, and look at yourself… look deeper than you’ve ever looked before.
We are our own harshest critics, and we often get it wrong when we try to justify to ourselves just how difficult a situation we are are really in. I was told last week that everything is fixable, and at the time I thought the person who told me that was completely crazy, but things soon changed.
Time and patience are great healers of emotional turmoil.
The road to being happy in yourself takes a lifetime; and you aren’t meant to do it all in a hurry. People often say things like “live for today”, well sure, but also think about what’s coming tomorrow. Because tomorrow isn’t today, and today doesn’t define your life.
I write this to you as someone going through my own inner turmoil. Life is good, and it’s important to see yourself through to the next day. You owe it to yourself, but more importantly, you owe it to your dream.
