Lienert-Brown Returns To Chiefs Squad

Ahead of their biggest clash of the season to date, the Chiefs will field a side with just two changes against the Brumbies.

Anton Lienert-Brown returns to the midfield after a knee infection ruled him out of selection last week, and once again Dave Rennie has rewarded young talent for performing off the bench, selecting Toni Pulu on the wing after scoring on debut.

Shaun Stevenson has recovered from a shoulder injury and will be fullback/wing cover on the bench.

Despite returning to Super Rugby last week, Stephen Donald hasn’t made selection for the squad this week.

Like the Chiefs, the Brumbies have only lost one game thus far in 2016 and sit atop their conference. Much like the Chiefs, the Brumbies have aspirations to win the Super Rugby title, and with their seemingly unbeatable presence when playing at home, the Brumbies have every reason to believe they can not only beat the Chiefs, but take the bonus point as well.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie says that the Brumbies are the best of the Australian sides in Super Rugby.

“It’s always a big challenge going to Canberra and playing against the best Australian side. It’ll be a test of us as individuals and a gauge as to where we’re at as a group”, Rennie said.

The Chiefs squad to take on the Brumbies on Saturday night at 9.30pm NZST is as follows:
