North Auckland Powerchair Football Club Formed

Popular disability advocate Barry de Geest has turned an idea into a reality, launching New Zealand’s newest Powerchair Football club this week.

North Auckland Powerchair Football officially opened its doors this weekend with a social pickup game.

De Geest says that he joined a great group of people, including his business partner, to form an idea of the club and the formation has followed on quickly from there.

The club features well-known players, including De Geest himself who has represented New Zealand.

De Geest says that any powerchair user is welcome at the club and strongly denied previous claims made by The Real Michael Pulman in previous reports.

To his credit, De Geest has continued working hard, and the real winner is New Zealand Powerchair Football which now has a new club to add to its resume, signalling a strong growth of the sport on these shores.
