Jonah Lomu’s cause of death yet to be revealed as thousands grieve

The news of Jonah Lomu’s sudden death has rocked the rugby community as thousands come to terms with the news, including close friends who themselves are legends of the black jersey.

Blues coach, and close friend to Jonah, Tana Umaga stuggled to find words during a press conference this afternoon.

“Right now I am deeply upset, my heart felt thoughts are with his wife and children,” Umaga said.

Ambulances were called to Lomu’s house in Auckland shortly after 11am on Wednesday morning. The official announcement was made early on Wednesday afternoon.

Lomu’s career would have been even greater had he not had his health problems, but even when he was off the field, Lomu remained a vocal and dedicated inspiration to the All Blacks.

Lomu was recently in England for the 2015 RWC and seemed to be in relatively good health so his sudden death at the age of 40 has come as a shock today.

A cause of death has yet to be revealed.
