Paul Arthur is set to resign as chairperson of MDA Canterbury following claims of harassment by his own committee members.
According to a source, the Canterbury chairperson is planning on resigning from the role after claims of bullying by National Council rep, and Canterbury branch member, Warren Hall.
Derek Woodward is also reported to be bullying Arthur.
Arthur requested to see agenda papers for today’s National Council meeting, and Hall said he would have to check with fellow branch committee member and National Council rep Derek Woodward first.
As chairperson of the branch, Arthur is entitled to see the agenda papers without the permission of his committee.
The Real Michael Pulman has also been informed that Arthur was asked to write an apology letter to MDA head Chris Higgins and the National Council after making public comments about the state of the association.
Arthur refused and claims to have been bullied by Woodward and Hall ever since.
Warren Hall also targeted Northern chairperson Trevor Jenkin, saying he shouldn’t have questioned the MDA’s CEO.
The MDA and National Council are holding a meeting today in Auckland.
