Aaron Cruden will miss six months of rugby after scans this afternoon revealed that the All Black will require surgery.
Cruden ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Friday’s win over the Crusaders.
Cruden will see a specialist on Wednesday to organise reconstruction surgery.
The expected timeframe for Cruden’s return will be six months.
This news is not only a major blow for the Chiefs in Super Rugby, but Cruden is now all but confirmed to miss the Rugby World Cup later this year.
Andrew Horrell and Damian McKenzie will now takeover the first five role for the Chiefs.
