Chiefs spread Christmas cheer to Waikids

The Chiefs took some time out of their pre season schedule to spread some Christmas cheer at Waikato Hospital this afternoon.

As part of the “We need your PJ’s” campaign, several Chiefs players were on hand to present collected sleepwear, socks, and singlets to young children and their families in need upon leaving Waikato Hospital.

Much of the Chiefs squad was present, including former All Black Jamie Mackintosh, Tim Nani Williams, and high profile new signing Damian McKenzie fresh off being named age grade player of the year at the recent New Zealand Rugby Awards.

Head coach Dave Rennie was also on hand for the event.

The Chiefs now break up for Christmas and New Year before training begins in January.

The Chiefs will play two pre season matches scheduled against the Blues in Northland and defending Super Rugby champions the Waratahs in Sydney prior to the regular season commencing in mid February.
