Waikato Mooloos appoint new head coach

The Mooloos will have a new head coach for the 2015 season.

Sean Botherway, 40, will coach the ITM Cup Waikato side next year alongside Carl Hoeft who keeps his assistant coaching role, with a backs/resource coach to be appointed in the new year.

Botherway replaces Johnny Walters as head coach of the Mooloos.

The Waikato Rugby Union are delighted to have Botherway take over the ITM Cup coaching head role after back-to-back title successes in 2013 and 2014 with Hamilton Marist as well as being head coach for the Waikato Juniors who recently finished fourth at the national U-19 championships.

Botherway has also coached various Waikato, Chiefs, Blues, and Hamilton Boys’ High School age group and developmental sides.

Botherway, born and raised in the Waikato, said he was honoured to be appointed head coach of the union.
