The Knights have named a strong side for the opening weekend of the Georgie Pie Super Smash, including a debut for wicketkeeper Tim Seifert.
Seifert is the product of the Waikato Valley Cricket Association, played for St Peters School, and has been undergoing recent development in the Northern Districts High Performance programme.
Seifert was also a part of the New Zealand U-19 squad for the World Cup last year.
The Knights will bring a strong side that will be play the Wellington Firebirds tomorrow, and the Otago Volts on Sunday.
The side includes 3 spin bowlers, spear headed by Daniel Vettori, with young Mitch Satner and Jono Boult also getting an opportunity to test out the Seddon Park deck.
Spin will clearly be a big game plan for the bowling.
Travis Birt will open the batting with Daniel Flynn, giving the Knights and all left hand opening pairing at the top of the order.
Dean Brownlie, a recent transfer from Canterbury, will make his Knights debut batting at number 3 while Anton Devcich slides down the order, not batting at his usual role of opener.
The full Knights squad for the opening Georgie Pie Super Smash Weekend is as follows:
