Two of the biggest names in this years Waikato Rugby Team have walked away with two of the top prizes at this evenings awards dinner in Hamilton.
Young kicker Damian McKenzie won the Gallagher Emerging Representative Player Of the Year award.
McKenzie has been one of the most eyed upon players in the ITM Cup season following his breakthrough showings in the U20 World Cup, and the Chiefs signing had a mixed season with the boot but showed his much talked about skill.
Damian McKenzie will return home for a few weeks rest before arriving back in Hamilton when the Chiefs begin camp in late November.
Joe Webber, the form winger in the ITM Cup, won the prestigious Waikato Draught Player Of The Year.
Webber scored many tries this season, and looked threatening every time he ran with the ball in hand. Setting himself up as one of the top points scorers in the competition, Webber ended the ITM Cup season with an international sevens call up for New Zealand.
Webber has almost certainly earned a spot on the field for the Chiefs next year in Super Rugby.
